I’m back after another long road trip. This time a 1600 mile, 24 hours of driving trip from Redmond to Tempe. I sure am tired of sitting in a car!
Once again, it wasn’t too hard to find good Paleo-ish food to eat even when in remote areas. The options are getting better all the time. But sometimes you do have to go a little out of your way to find the good stuff.
A great example was when we stopped for lunch in Ellensburg. In the past whenever I was passing through Ellensburg and wanted lunch or dinner, I’d settle for Subway and get a salad. That’s adequate. Barely.
This time we used TripAdvisor and found a place called the Yellow Church Cafe, and it’s about a 5 mile detour off of I-90. It’s absolutely worth it! The food isn’t cheap, but it’s very high quality and there are many Paleo options. I had their bison burger with bacon and it was amazing.
So next time you’re traveling, go a bit out of your way and find the good stuff. It really isn’t that hard with apps like TripAdvisor.
Oh... And no, I didn't eat the bun.
