This might end up being a 25% change, or 50% or more…
I’ve written several posts about our hormones and how important it is to avoid things that disrupt them. Because of the disruptors in our environment, your hormone levels can be messed up no matter what your age. So how do you know if your levels are okay? You have to get them tested by a doctor or naturopath that knows what they’re looking for.
Women are especially likely to have thyroid issues. Make sure your doctor checks TSH, T3 and T4 levels. Usually they don’t check all three and don’t get a complete picture.
Men are especially likely to have testosterone and estrogen issues. If testosterone is low and estrogens are high, there are supplements that can make a significant difference in getting them back where they should be. I had mine checked about a year and a half ago and things were way out of whack. I had a follow-up recently and all my levels are pretty much perfect.
Thyroid, testosterone and estrogen issues can cause weight gain (or inability to lose fat) as well as energy, mood and motivational issues.
So your 1% might be to make that appointment to have your hormones checked. And in a few months you might find out that what you did that day you made the appointment made a huge difference in your life.
