Specifically, eat more pasture raised chicken eggs. Yes they’re more expensive. But like most other foods you have to pay more for, they’re much more nutritious.
Over the years, eggs were vilified as bad for you… high in fat and cholesterol. But that’s just wrong. Whole eggs are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat.
Those food companies that are always trying to solve problems that don’t really exist make things like Egg Beaters, which are nothing but egg whites with a bunch of additives. I still see people ordering egg white omelets or egg beater omelets. That’s crazy! The egg yolk is where all the good stuff is… 40% of the protein, all the Omega-3, all the other great nutrients like the B vitamins, vitamins A, D, E and K and the minerals calcium, zinc, copper and iron and more.
Because of the “fat is bad” mentality (which is completely wrong and will be the subject of tomorrow's post), people throw away the yolk… that should be a crime! You’re not going to get fat eating whole eggs. I eat a ton of eggs. I often eat 3 or 4 a day. If you’ve seen me, I’m not fat.
So find some pasture raised eggs and enjoy them. Eggs are an awesome nutritious food.
