This might be something that you haven't given much thought. But magnesium is an important mineral to over 300 metabolic functions in our bodies.
Two things have happened in recent history…
Our soil has become depleted of magnesium because of intensive farming methods. So there's less of it in our foods than there was in the past.
Processed foods, grains and sugars in our diets sap the magnesium from our bodies
So what can you do about it? Three things.
Don’t eat things that sap magnesium from your body: Sugar, sodas, breads, legumes grains, dairy, etc. Yep. Pretty much all those things I’ve been telling you to avoid anyway. If you do a Google search for foods that are rich in magnesium, things like whole wheat bread and beans will come up. The problem with those is that they also have anti-nutrients that prevent you from absorbing the magnesium that’s in those foods and other foods you eat.
