Today's 1% Change: Think Young, Act Young, Stay Young

One of my pet peeves is when people say… “I’m too old to do that.” Or, “That’s just what happens when you get old." Just stop it. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.


A lot of people assume that as the years go by, they’ll have aches and pains, won’t be active, won’t be able to do simple things like walk up stairs.


Your ability to do those things and age well has more to do with how active you are for your entire life and whether you’ve been feeding your body nutritious foods than the number that is your age. It also has a lot to do with your mental state.


Don’t assume that just because your age is 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 or higher that you won’t be healthy and active.


Have you seen the 80 year old grandmother that lifts weights and looks awesome? She started exercising when she was 56.


How about the 86 year old gymnast?


Or the 102 year old that set an indoor cycling record?


Maybe you’re thinking “They have good genes”. Yes, I’m sure they do.


And you know what makes your genes healthy? Eating real, nutritious food, staying active and being positive.


So stop it. Stop saying and thinking you're getting old. Eat real food. Be active. Be positive!
